Harriet and I spent Mother's Day afternoon inspecting the best entries in the National Photographic Portrait Prize for 2009 at the National Portrait Gallery. My favourites: Assorted Toppings,Betty Churcher,Antonio Tisano,Larry Stiski surrounded by music,Little Joys and Ruby.... but lots of others well composed and lit and capturing the essence of the subject.
